The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) reports that nearly MVR 4 million was provided to underprivileged single parents as child care assistance in July.
According to the agency, a total of 2,863 single parents classified as poor received financial aid last month. Additionally, 35 adults and 68 children were newly registered for the program in July.
NSPA figures show that more than MVR 4.9 million was distributed to support 4,898 children during the month. The agency also disbursed MVR 172,500 to 93 parents who care for children that are not their own.
In July, 697 underprivileged individuals received financial aid from NSPA to purchase essential food items. The agency continues to provide support for a range of basic needs.
