President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has made history as the first Head of State to visit all 187 inhabited islands of the Maldives — completing the milestone on Tuesday during his visits to Thulusdhoo, Kaashidhoo, and Dhiffushi in Malé Atoll.
Throughout his nationwide visits, the President met with Island Councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDCs), and residents to discuss development needs, review ongoing projects, and ensure Government pledges are being fulfilled. He was accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises, who provided detailed progress reports on infrastructure and public service projects.
Thulusdhoo
Major inaugurations and foundation-laying:
- Inauguration of the State Utility Skills Academy
- Commissioning of the new desalination (water) plant
- Laying of foundations for the new powerhouse and Bank of Maldives branch
- Opening of the Education Development Centre
- Launch of WAMCO waste management services

Kaashidhoo

- The harbour development project has been identified as the island’s top priority in the 2026 State Budget, with construction beginning next year.
- Tourism expansion through a second opportunity for resort investment in the Kaashidhoo lagoon.
- Introduction of Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services and efforts to bring seaplane operations once tourism increases.
- Signing of the Food Security Programme agreement, expected to boost both local livelihoods and island economy.

During the meeting with the Kaashidhoo Council, WDC, and institutional leaders, the community prioritised:
- Renovation of the harbour
