During the ongoing economic challenges in Sri Lanka, Madihaa Company Pvt. Ltd., one of the Maldives’ largest importers of fresh vegetables and produce, has stepped forward with meaningful support and strengthened its commitment to the Sri Lankan community.

Recently, Managing Director Ahmed Marzooq, together with the Madihaa Operations Team, met High Commissioner Mohamed Rizvi Hassen and the Manager of Bank of Ceylon at the Sri Lankan High Commission. During this official visit, Madihaa Company presented a donation as part of its continuous efforts to support Sri Lanka during this difficult period. This initiative highlights the company’s dedication to social responsibility and its appreciation for Sri Lanka—one of its primary sourcing partners for the fresh produce supplied to the Maldives.

The meeting also included constructive discussions on how to expand business collaborations, strengthen long-term relationships with the Bank of Ceylon (BOC), and further enhance trade partnerships between Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Both sides emphasized the importance of sustainable supply chains and long-term value creation between the two nations.
This donation comes in addition to Madihaa Company’s contribution to the Maldives Telethon fundraising campaign, which united major media outlets to support relief initiatives. Moreover, Chairperson Mr. Moosa Ahmed, who is currently in Colombo, is personally assisting families affected by the crisis to ensure timely and direct support.
Madihaa Company has also provided financial assistance and essential goods to its Sri Lankan employees whose homes were damaged, helping them rebuild their houses and restore stability.
Through these collective efforts, Owners and the Madihaa Operations Team continue to demonstrate leadership, compassion, and a strong humanitarian spirit—further strengthening the bond between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and supporting communities during their time of need.
