President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the concerns of citizens as he continues his series of public meetings, most recently engaging with residents of Hulhumalé Phase II on Thursday night.
Speaking at the gathering held at Salaahudheen School, the President said the meetings are designed to create a direct channel between the public and the Presidency, allowing residents to raise their concerns openly and candidly. He emphasized that the core objective of the initiative is to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by communities and to work towards practical and lasting solutions.
The President stressed that every idea and concern shared by the public matters, noting that inclusive dialogue is essential to effective governance. Throughout the meetings, President Muizzu has demonstrated notable patience, composure, and dedication to public service, listening attentively to all feedback. Even the most emotional appeals are met with empathy and assurance, as he reiterates his commitment to fulfilling his pledges and resolving issues raised by the community.
Well-organised arrangements have been made to ensure these important engagements are accessible and productive. Over the past weeks, the President has met with residents across several neighbourhoods of Malé City, providing a rare opportunity for citizens to speak directly with their Head of State.
To date, meetings have been held with residents of Machchangolhi, Maafannu, Henveiru, Galolhu, Vilimalé, and now Hulhumalé Phase II, underscoring President Muizzu’s continued focus on people-centred governance and direct public engagement.
