The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the previously announced decision to suspend on-arrival visa issuance for travellers to Bangladesh has been annulled.
The clarification follows an earlier travel advisory issued to Maldivians ahead of Bangladesh’s parliamentary election scheduled for 12 February, which had stated that on-arrival visas would be paused from 15 January to 15 February as part of heightened security measures.
The Ministry has now confirmed that the suspension will not take effect, and travellers may continue to follow existing visa arrangements when travelling to Bangladesh. However, travellers are advised to remain attentive to any general security advisories issued by relevant authorities.
