- Resort Features Seven Ocean-Facing Villas
Nila Coral Island Maldives, the third resort in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, has officially opened in the Maldives. The resort has been developed on Koddegala Island in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that the opening of the resort would create new employment and business opportunities for residents of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, allowing more people to benefit directly from tourism development in their region.
With the Maldives preparing to mark Visit Maldives Year next year, the ministry said the opening would also contribute to efforts to attract more tourists to the country and distribute the economic benefits of tourism across a wider range of islands.
Nila Coral Island Maldives is a luxury resort designed to accommodate up to 40 guests at a time. The property features seven ocean-facing villas developed on the island, offering guests views of the surrounding sea.
The villas are divided into three categories: two-bedroom villas, three-bedroom villas and a five-bedroom villa in the resort's highest category.
Bookings for the resort are now open. According to the resort, the property is located approximately 15 minutes from Maavarulu Airport, providing convenient access for visitors travelling to the island.
With the opening of Nila Coral Island Maldives, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll now has three operational resorts. The other two are Ayada Maldives and NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort.
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, 180 resorts are currently operating across the Maldives, with a combined capacity of 45,171 beds.
The Maldives has welcomed approximately 1.6 million tourist arrivals so far this year, of whom around 1.2 million have stayed at resorts.
