State institutions have been disgraced- Ameen
Jumhooree Party’s Deputy Leader, Ameen Ibrahim has stated that the most important part of a state is the independent institutions of a state and today they have been dishonoured and disgraced by giving them no opportunity.

He made this remark at the press conference of the steering committee of the “Against Oppression” movement.

Ameen said that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is doing everything he can to make sure that the state institutions are humiliated and disgraced.

He said that the people have lost their trust on the state institutions such as the Police and MNDF because of how they conducted themselves in the case against Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim.

He said that this is one of the worse damage that can be inflicted on the security forces.

Ameen said that the judiciary which the people rely on most is also dishonoured by dishonest people who are politically motivated. He said that this apparent and clear from the trial of former Defence Minister Colonel Nazim and former President Mohamed Nasheed.

He said that the biggest pride of a state is the economy of the state. “The economy rely on the entrepreneurs and business men, various companies and centers that generate money for the state.”

He said that the government oppression against Gasim Ibrahim shows have brought shame to the economy of Maldives.

Ameen said that Gasim is being oppressed by way MIRA with false claims of undue bills. He said that Gasim is now accused of this while he was given the gold coin of MIRA for being its best customer.

He said that the people are suffering today in all realms and spheres of life. The government has gone to extremes and beyond bounds in their despotism and oppression, he said.
