Famous lawyer, Abdulla Haseen has said that the Police are now trying to cause friction between the people and the National Alliance following the mass crackdown on Mayday protesters.
He said that the Police will not be able to succeed in this. He made this remark speaking in a press conference held at MDP office.
Haseen said that the Police are obstructing the alliance from arranging lawyers for the detainees and informing the detainees that the alliance is not arranging lawyers for them.
He said that the Police are not letting them meet all the detainees even after lawyers visited Dhoonidhoo detention facility.
Meanwhile, Detainees, lawyers and families of detainees from May Day protest have reported of police brutality and abuse during and after arrest on 1 May.
