Addu City’s Electricity problem at stake with two judges issuing two different verdicts
Addu City’s Electricity problem is at stake with two judges issuing two different verdicts regarding the matter.

Addu Mayor Abdulla Sodig said that the court issued verdict up until now that electricity cannot be cut off as it is a basic right and Fenaka has the opportunity to submit cases of unpaid electricity services to the court.

However, Sodiq informed Miadhu Daily that the court changed its judge and last night gave another verdict.

According to verdict issued last night Fenaka has the right to cut off electricity.

“In the morning the court verdict issued stated that Fenaka cannot do it. However last night a lady judge issued verdict that Fenaka can do it,” he said.

Sodiq said that this sudden decision of Fenaka to cut of electricity from shops and other businesses are causing a lot of damage.

“Many of the shops have many goods in their refrigerators which will get spoiled without electricity,” he said.

Sodiq noted that state institutions have not been paying bills as well but electricity is not cut off from those institutions.
