Adhaalath Party has formulated a five member team to attend talks with government on the current political situation in the country.
The team consists of arrested party president Sheikh Imran Abdulla, Vice President Dr Mauroof Hussain, Secretary General Mohamed Iaad Hameed, member of the party’s Scholar’s Council Mohamed Didi and President of the Research Committee Shidhaathaa Shareef.
In a statement issued today, the party said that the current differences can be overcome only with round table discussions among representatives from the government, MDP, JP and AP. The statement also revealed that the party has replied to the President’s invitation to attend talks and said the party welcomes negotiations.
Jumhooree Party has also agreed to attend talks while MDP is to announce their response on Thursday.
The President has assigned Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb, Minister at the President’s Office Mohamed Hussain Shareef, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim and Housin Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu to represent the government at the talks between JP and AP. However, Home Minister Umar Naseer, Fiseries Minister Dr Mohamed Shainee and Minister at the President’s Office Abdulla Ameen will represent the government in negotiations with MDP.
