Shidhadha Shareef of Adhaalath Party has called the Job Tribunal to preserve the trust of the people on the institution.
She said that the tribunal has so far investigated cases submitted to it with justice and fairness. She said that she believes that the government has been trying to cause undue influence to the institution.
Shidhatha added that it will be very saddening and appalling if the government succeeds in corrupting the institution.
She said that there are reports that the government has been sacking employees for participating in anti-tyranny protests. She added that there also reports that some private companies have also been following the government in this.
She said that the freedom of thought and expression and also the freedom of assembly are basic human rights granted to the people by the constitution. She said that no one should try to prevent the people from using these rights.
Shidhatha said that the people are not coming out to the streets because they enjoy it but they are coming out because they are being deprived of their rights.
