MDP Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) has stated that this generation many not reap the benefits of the democratic system.
He made the statement in a ceremony held Friday night to mark the 10th anniversary of MDP and added that the benefits would be seen by the future generations.
Ibu stated that MDP was started 10 years ago with the aim that their goals would be realized. He also stated that Maldivians always had prioritized democracy and as such would take initiative for such an action.
Ibu also called on all former important members of MDP who had left the Party to rejoin the Party.
A special parade was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Party.
