Police serve with no regard for personal safety: CP
Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has stated that Police, even though supported by Councils and citizens, serve the nation with no regard for personal safety and with limited budgets.

Hussain Waheed made the statement speaking in the closing ceremony of Shaheed Adam Haleem Memorial Quran Competition.

Hussain Waheed said that serving the nation and religion was a must for all. As such, he said that Police was carrying this out every day, with minimal resources and new challenges. He especially noted
that Police officers stationed in the islands had difficulties accessing resources. CP Waheed added that the department had had assistance from the public and the Government in amassing the said resources and noted his thanks for that.

CP Waheed also added that Police was engaged in their work with national interest and did not place any aspect above that.

He spoke on the importance of such Quran competition for families of Police officers and encouraged religious illumination in the community. He added that this was not the only social outreach program
Police was conducting and said that programs such as blues for youth and other programs were quite successful in preventing the spread of crime and inculcate proper values in the youth.
