Former President Mohamed Naheed’s legal team has stated that appeal process will be carried out in High Court only after consultations with the international legal team.
Lawyer Hassan Latheef stated that Nasheed’s case was under strict watch of President Yameen and that the Government’s decision to appeal the issue in High Court raised many plays. He stated that this was another drama perpetrated by the Prosecutor General and that the international lawyers need to be consulted on the next step forward.
The lawyers added that there were no formal reports or additional details regarding the appeal and that they were made aware of such a move only by media reports. They also questioned PG’s intent in making such a move.
