Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor has stated that speedy service for the passengers arriving in the Maldives was a key factor in the economic progress of the country.
He made the statement speaking in the inauguration ceremony to open the Red and Green Channel system at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).
He pointed out that in a country like the Maldives, where the economy was generally dependent on the service industry, speedier services for the tourists, especially at the airport, will definitely play a major role in the advancement of the economy. He thanked MACL and Customs officials in establishing the service.
Adeeb said that even though the channel has been introduced security will not be compromised and all baggage will go through proper reviewing. He added that airport development was a critical project of the Government.
