JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s legal team have stated that Qasim is in Germany at the moment and he went to Germany with a special permission given by the government of Germany.
Qasim’s legal team stated that Qasim was allowed to leave the country for medical treatment because three major hospitals in the country issued statements saying that Qasim cannot be treated in Maldives because they lack the necessary facilities.
In addition the statement says that Maldives Correctional Service renewed Qasim’s travel document on 2nd October and it has expired. Qasim has been in Singapore under a special visa granted by the government of Singapore after the travel document expired.
Qasim’s legal team stated that, since Qasim always receives treatment from Germany, he has been allowed into Germany with instructions from his German doctors and doctors in Singapore.
