Former Toursim Minister Dr.Mausoom have said that what we see today in Maldives is a military dictatorship.
Dr.Mausoom said that the constitution does not allow a military government and that it allows a republic system of government. He said that hence the Maldives should be governed in accordance with the constitution.
Meanwhile, the MP for Makunudhoo Anara Naeem also questioned about the way Maldives is being governed now. She asked whether any country has a system of governance where the parliament and the supreme court is hijacked by the military.
The opposition are saying that there are no independent institutions in the Maldives anymore. They say that the institutions are not acting upon the counsel provided by the AG and the PG.
