Two hours after PPM announced that they will end their gatherings before 10:30 pm, the police announced that all public gatherings should be ended before 10:30 pm.
Abduh Raheem said that PPM made this decision because night time rallies are a huge burden for everyone. Even the police said the same thing. Spokesperson of Police, Ahmed Shifan said that starting from tonight all gatherings should be ended before 10:30 and if they exceed that time, it will be dispersed.
Speaking at a press conference held today by the opposition, MP Ameeth said that they will not accept this regulation made by the police and that they will use the freedom given in the constitution to protest. “Today we saw Adhurey’s decision being made into a regulation” said Ameeth.
Responding to Shifan’s statement about the opposition using masks during the protest, Ameeth said that the people use it for protection against pepper spray and that I cannot be banned.
It should be noted that even the police wear protective masks during protests while using pepper spray.
