PPM’s PG Leader Ahmed Nihan have expressed concern because the opposition MPs keep taking part in committee meetings even though they boycotted sessions of the parliament.
In a press conference held by PPM today, Nihan said that unless a member signs using the parliament ID card inside the parliament chamber, the MP would not be considered as present. He said that however the opposition members are not doing this, but they even vote in committee meetings.
Nihan said that the opposition members are doing this because even if they don’t enter the parliament sessions they will get their salaries but they will not get the committee allowance if they do not attend committee meetings. Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament warned that members who do not take part in parliament deliberations might not get their salary.
Opposition members say that they do not recognize Maseeh as the speaker of the parliament and hence they will not take part in sessions where Maseeh preside as the speaker.
