Government of Maldives has responded to the conclusion adopted by EU council on Maldives, saying that the verdict of 1st February does not have to be implemented anymore.
Foreign Minister of the Maldives issued a statement last night saying that the verdict of 1st February does not have to be implemented because the Supreme court revoked the order of 1st February. In addition, the statement said that, the state of emergency will be revoked once the dangers to national security are neutralized. This means that the government will revoke the state of emergency when government wants.
Government says that the state of emergency was announced to enforce laws and for stability and peace. In addition government says that the state of emergency applies to people who were involved in the attempted overthrow of the government.
