Chief Justice, president Maumoon and Ali Hameed’s case sent to PG for prosecution
Maldives Police Service has sent the cases of Ali Hameed, Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and former President Maumoon to the Prosecutor General for prosecution. They are being charged with destroying evidence.

Previously police stated that they had evidence which proved that these three individuals tried to overthrow the government. However today they sent a different case to the PG.

President Maumoon’s lawyers stated that he has not been questioned since he was detained and requested to send the cases to PG if police had evidence.

In addition, the head of DJA Hassan Saeed is also being charged for absconding.
