Former CP Abdullah Riyaz have criticized the police saying that he is ashamed of how they are acting.
Riyaz criticized them after police sent cases of former President Maumoon, Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed, Justice Ali Hameed and DJA Administrator Hassan Saeed to PG for prosecution for “destroying evidence”.

Riyaz tweeted saying that charging them for another case other than the case they were initially suspected of is something that he is ashamed of. He asked if the police forgot their principles and said that no suspect will have to give evidence against themselves.

Since DJA head Hassan Saeed is being charged for absconding, he tweeted asking if anyone else was ever charged for that. He said that this shows how weak the institution is. All four of them were arrested allegedly for planning to overthrow the government. Police previously stated that they have documentary evidence against them.

The verdict of 1st February ordered to free 9 people and reinstated the 12 parliament members. However government announced a state of emergency and arrested two judges of the Supreme Court. After that the remaining judges revoked the previous verdict.
