Vmedia has started raising funds after Broadcasting Commission of the Maldives fined VTV and VFM with 400,000 Rufiyaa.
According to Vmedia the company is managed based on the profit they generate and that this huge fine is causing them huge difficulties and that they request their supporters to help them. Vmedia has kept a donation box inside the main office of Vmedia.
VTV presenter Hameed said that this fine will not discourage Vmedia team and that if it requires they will take the donation box on the streets of Male’ asking for donation. Vmedia was fined based on something MP Musthafa said during a live telecast of Vmedia. It is suspicious that Vmedia was fined with such a large amount because they have never even been given a warning before.
