Anti-Corruption Commission have stated that there is no corruption involved in extending the lease agreement of Maamigili Airport to Villa Air.
The decision to extend the lease period was made during Dr.Waheed’s administration and the decision was taken by the Economic Committee. Even though the airport was given permission to conduct international flights, during Dr.Waheed’s administrant, the current administration revoked the permission.
Maamigili Airport which was developed by Qasim Ibrahim was opened in 2011.
