Parliament members are voted based on their parties – floor crossing should not be allowed : PPM
PPM have said that parliament members are voted based on their parties and hence they should not be allowed to change parties once elected.

In a press conference held by PPM today, Deputy Leader of PPM Abduh Raheem Abdullah said that the nation is facing various problems due to floor crossing of parliament members and hence a legislation needs to be passed to prevent that.

Even thought, it should be noted that in the history of Maldivian Parliament, most members defected to PPM. If a member leaves PPM, that member is unseated while if a member joins PPM they celebrate it.
