MP Ilham is being investigated by the police for warning opposition members during a speech he gave while he was a member of PPM.
Ilham’s lawyer Nooruh Salaam Aboobakr said that the police is investigating Ilham on the grounds that he threatened members of the parliament. Nooruh Salaam said that police took a statement from Ilham regarding that case.
Ilham talked in this manner during the time the opposition was planning to take a vote of no confidence against the speaker of the parliament. Ilham said that those who vote against the speaker will be in hot water. “if you do not want to be in hot water then don’t want. Even those among use who do not wish to be in hot water then don’t vote against Maseeh….” said Ilham.
The case was lodged at the Police station by MP Areef who is now an opposition member.
Ilham is in police detention at the moment. He was detained after he handed himself over to the police after the police announced that they were looking for him.
