A special march is to be held to mark International Women's Day. The march will begin at 6:45 am infront of Kunooz.
Speaking about the march, the mayor of Male' Shifa Mohammed said that even though the march is organized by opposition parties, the event is not a political event and that there only purpose if to mark International Women's Day in Maldives.
Shifa said that the participants of the march will hold placards with slogans related to the day.
This year's slogan for International Women's Day is "Press for progress". Participants of the march will display placards which says that women can be empowered with greater participation from men. Organizers of the march asked as many women as possible to take part in the march.
