Laws cannot be retroactively – Even the UN will not accept it: Qasim Ibrahim
Leader of JP, Qasim Ibrahim have said that laws cannot be applied retroactively and that even the United Nations will not accept it.

Qasim made this statement after government submitted a bill to the parliament to amend the legislation on the judges. Opposition believes that the purpose of this amendment is to find a way to dismiss Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed from their positions.

PPM also stated that they want to remove these two judges and requested the JSC to send the matter to the parliament. The bill was submitted to the parliament by Abduh Raheem Abdullah the deputy leader of PPM and he stated that they will find a way to remove these two judges.

"One cannot be punished or charged under a law that is created or amended after the act has been committed. It is unconstitutional and even the UN will not accept it" said Qasim Ibrahim.
