Maldives Police Service has arrested former member of elections commission Ahmed Shaahid (Saabe), former MP Ilyas Labeeb and member of MDP national council Hassan Ahmed.
SG of MDP Anas Abduh Sattar said that he does not know what these people are being charged of but knows that they were arrested under the special authority given to security services during the state of emergency.
So far more than 100 people have been arrested since the state of emergency was declared. Opposition parties have said that there are more than 30 people in police detention even now.
