Last night’s protest organized by the opposition was controlled by MNDF. Those who tried to enter the Republic Square were also dispersed by MNDF after using pepper spray.
In addition they were active all over Male’ like police. Opposition said that it shows that now Maldives is a military state. In a press conference held late last night by PPM, they said that MNDF will be active in maintaining order are advised against confronting them.
Police started arresting people last night even before the opposition could begin the protest. Protestors said that arresting them is not a solution and that the solution is the government abiding by the constitution instead of violating it. They said that especially the government has to revert what they have done to the Supreme Court.
