PG Leader of MDP Ibrahim Muhammad Solih has been arrested and taken to Dhoonidhoo. He was arrested during last night’s protest. It is not confirmed whether he was arrested under SOE or not.
Other people who were arrested includes MP for Central Henveyru constituency Ali Azim and council member for that same constituency Ahmed Niyaz. Hence, all elected officials of the constituency are in detention now.
Chairperson of MDP Hassan Latheef said that the protest they started last night did not end yet and said that it will continue.
A record number of people were arrested from the protests last night.
