Husnu Suood the lawyer of Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed has been suspended from appearing as a lawyer at the Criminal Court.
He was suspended because the authorities are investigating statements made by Suood after the hearing of Chief Justice.
At present a record number of lawyers are suspended in the Maldives.
Lawyers play a vital role in upholding law and democratic values. Many are expressing concern about these suspensions.
