Joint opposition parties have stated the fact that the government is conducting trials of those arrested during state of emergency based on arbitrary procedures shows that the government has no intention of ensuring a fair trial to those arresting during the state of emergency.
A statement issued by the joint opposition parties state that absence of a written procedure on how to treat those arrested during SOE, will lead to discrimination and hence the criminal procedures act is suspended there is no procedure for judges to conduct trials.
The opposition stated that arbitrary procedures used by the judges shows that the government has decided not to give a fair trial to those who were arrested.
