Criminal Court has cancelled the hearing of Abdullah Riyaz’s trial after taking him to the court. Today’s hearing was regarding the charges made against him by the state for influencing a state official in carrying out the duty of the office.
The hearing was supposed to start at 1330 hours but it was cancelled before that. The court has previously ordered to detain Riyaz until the end of the trial. However pervious hearings of the case were held without detaining Riyaz. Riyaz’s lawyers are preparing to appeal the court order to detain him until the trial is over.
Riyaz’s family also requested the PG to review the case and to release him.
