Mohammed Usman, whose hand was broken by the police have said that his hand was broken after he told the police that it hurts and it he had done a surgery before. Usman said that he was sitting near artificial beach and was not taking part in the protest and police broke his hand when he told them that it hurts after they shoved him.
Usman said that he was talking to a friend when the police came.
“I did not try to leave when they came because I was not a protestor. However they came and ordered me to leave and started to push me. I told them that I had recently undergone a surgery and that it hurts. When I said that another police officer came and broke my hand. It was broken from a different place. Not from the same place as the surgery” said Usman.
Usman said that he fell to the ground as soon has his hand was broken but the police did not even bother to pick him up. “Then when I tried to get up, they asked me what I was trying to do. I told them that they broke my hand and that I am trying to go to the hospital. Then they said that, they will take me to the hospital” said Usman.
Usman said that he was taken to ADK Hospital by the police and that the first x ray also showed that his hand was broken and that the police also saw it. “X-ray was examined while the police officers were present and I asked them if they saw that my hand was broken” said Usman.
Since ADK did not have some surgical tools needed to operate his hand, he was taken to IGMH. He was at IGMH for 5 days and then IGMH stated that they did not have the required tools as well. After that he was taken to India and now surgery has been completed. He said that he had to spend more than 3000 dollars for the surgery and other costs.
