India makes decision regarding Maldives based on their own research and findings. It is not based on rumors.
There is no information anyone should give to India regarding Maldives because Indians can obtain it themselves. India does not act based on information by others but act based on their own policies.
India does not require much from Maldives, but they see Maldivians as close brothers. India always acts on the best interest of Maldivians and by respecting the spirit of the Maldivians.
Maldivians will believe this as well. There is nothing more important to India than relations between the citizens of both the nations. India wants Maldivians to get the benefit their citizens get because India is the largest democracy in the world.
While Indian officials and Indian Think Tanks express similar views, the view of Maldivian Ambassador to India is very different. He says “The best laid plans of those who devise to manipulate & divide our communities will fail. We see through these dangerous designs & stand united against such trouble makers. Maldives deserves better than those trying to divide our communities & attempt to foster misunderstandings”.
