Opposition parties of Maldives have stated that they are working as planned and that they will reach the target.
A leader of the opposition said that they are working towards the target and that there is no barrier for them and that there is no dispute among the opposition parties.
“The people might be worried because we have not talked about a candidate. That is not a problem and when the time comes everything will clear. People will know whom to vote for and then they can vote for the candidate” said the official.
He said that the opposition has just one view and that it is to end this administration and to bring a government that will rule in accordance with the laws. He said that they want to establish a government which does not steal from the state, which allows the judiciary and the parliament to function impartially.
He said that since they are human, sometimes some people within the opposition might not be happy with everything. “It is not our way to kick those with different views out of the party. We know how to work with people of diverse views” said the official.
