Two main piers of Male’-Hulhumale’ bridge has been connected last night.
Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu tweeted today saying that pier 22 and pier 23 of the bridge has been connected last night. He said that the work of the bridge is going as per the schedule. Dr.Muizzu also tweeted a picture of the 2 piers being connected.
The bridge costs 200 million dollars and 116 million of it is aid from China. In addition 72 million dollars is a soft loan from China while the state is spending 12 million dollars.
The bridge will have 2 lanes for four wheeled vehicles, a cycle lane, bicycle lane and a pedestrian lane.
