Opposition parties of the Maldives has warned the government saying that they will “stop” the government before the elections and start a government which abides by the laws.
Speaking at a rally held at Ihavandhoo by the opposition last night, former speaker of the parliament Abdullah Shahid said that they will only stop the work they are doing after removing the title of President from President Yameen’s name.
Speaking at the rally, deputy leader of AP Ali Zahir said that the opposition is working hard to over throw the government and that soon results will be seen. He said that the government will be changed before the elections.
Furthermore, MP Ali Hussein said that according to the constitution the president can be changed every 24 hours if the people desires it. He said that even judges can be removed through the parliament but parliament members cannot be removed.
The opposition also announced that they are planning for a big protest.
