Abdullah Kamalauhdheen calls the government to amend the constitution after talking with the opposition
Abdullah Kamaaluhdheen have called the government to amend the constitution after talking with the opposition, if the government intends to bring changes to the constitution.

Speaking at a panel discussion held last night by the opposition, Abdullah Kamaaludheen said that if the constitution is changed arbitrarily without any discussions, there will be no stability in the country. He said that there are huge concerns about the situation of the country today. He said that three opposition leaders have been slapped with jail sentences while the third opposition leader is undergoing a trial.

He said that the trials the government wants to speed up are conducted at a fast speed while other trials are delayed. “JP leader Qasim’s case have been appealed in September last year” said Kamaluhdheen.

Last night’s panel discussion was regarding the two Supreme Court Justices who are in jail. The participants of the discussion noted that the two judges have been arrested unlawfully and all the actions that are being taken against them are unlawful as well.
