Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu have said that flats will be awarded justly and it will be given to those who deserve it the most.
Dr.Muizzu said that those who are above 18 can apply for the flats because those above 18 can vote and also because they can legally take responsibility to pay for the flats. In addition he said that if a flat is awarded those who have land plots smaller than 600 square feet will not have to give it up but if the land plot is bigger than that, it should be given up.
In addition he said that if a married couple gets a flat then one of them should give up the land.
Furthermore he said that everyone is requested to apply again because the previous forms were submitted 4 years ago and hence the living conditions might have changed now. Dr.Muizzu said that single parents will be those who have been divorced until 30th April.
He said that they made this regulation because some people divorce in order to get flats. In addition he said that in this round 7000 flats of two rooms are being developed and the government is developing more flats. He said that even though forms are issued today they will start accepting it from 3rd June till 31st July.
