JP has appealed to Maldives Police Service and PG to free President Maumoon based on humanitarian grounds due to his ill health.
JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim tweeted saying that President Maumoon has been jailed for three months now and that he requests PG and the police to free him.
President Maumoon was arrested on 5th February after announcing a state of emergency. He is being charged with obstruction of justice and plotting to overthrow the government.
