Speaking at a press conference held today, ACP Nawaz said that under the MUO signed today, the biggest priority will be providing security to the ballot boxes in the islands and to prepare for an incident that might happen.
He said that he hopes the elections will be smooth and that the MOU will outline how the police will act incase something happens. Furthermore he said that they need the cooperation of the public to ensure a smooth election and requested cooperation from the people.
Also Nawaz ensured that the police will not obstruct any activity that is being conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Elections Commission.
Acting Commissioner of Police Adam Nawaz have said that Maldives Police Service will do their best to ensure a smooth election.
