Vice President of JP, Dr.Mausoom said that the decision made by the opposition coalition last night to field a common candidate for the upcoming presidential elections was a decision that everyone wanted.
Dr.Mausoom said that it was a huge achievement to appoint Ibrahim Mohammed Solih as the opposition candidate and that he is popular.
In addition, Dr.Mausoom said that JP leader Qasim Ibrahim took a step back due to the obstruction by the government and now former President Nasheed has also taken a step back. He said that for these reasons the opposition can easily win the election.
In addition he said that he learned what PPM meant when they said that they will win the election without any competition. “They jailed all opposition leaders and prevented them from contesting.
If the 4 opposition leaders campaigned together they would have won many votes. If they got that chance, then President Yameen wouldn’t get a single vote” said Dr.Mausoom.
