MP Faisal Naseem of JP has been nominated as the running mate of the opposition coalition.
The council of JP took a vote to nominate a running mate and Faisal Naseem secured 15 votes out of 41 votes. Ali Hussein another contender for the post got 14 votes.
If the opposition coalition wins the election, Faisal Naseem will be the vice president.
Dr.Hussein Rasheed, Faisal Naseem, Abdullah Ameen and Ali Hussein contested for the post. Many council members of JP requested Jp council member Aishath Nahula to contest however she said that she had no interest in running for the position.
Founder of JP Qasim Ibrahim requested the council of JP to nominate a running mate based on the wish of the people.
