The Deputy Leader of JP, Dr.Hussein Rasheed Hassan have said that it is very low level for the president to lie to the people openly and slander others. He said that is a dangerous act.
Dr.Hussein said that the president lied to the people saying that Qasim Ibrahim has not appealed his jail verdict, even though he has appealed it. He said that there are various questions as to why the president made this statement.
In addition he said that it is very dangerous for the president to slander others and spread gossip. He said that the president should have correct information before speaking about any specific matter. He said that the president should always speak the truth and that the president should be aware of what his cabinet and VP is doing. “But in Maldives we do not see that. When huge corruption cases surfaced, the president said that he was not aware of it” said Dr.Hussein.
Before the MMPRC case was investigated by the government, many MPs and the Auditor General warned the president but he refused to believe it.
