Elections Commission have said that it is not compulsory to consult the advisory committee formed to consult during the elections.
Speaking to the press, the president of the EC, Shareef said that some of the decisions made by the EC were made without consulting the commission.
Shareef said that there are reasons why they haven’t been able to meet the committee, but they will do everything that is required to conduct the elections, as scheduled.
He said that the EC is not consulting the advisory committee or the public before changing regulations related to the elections.
