Ibrahim Mohammed Solih the presidential candidate of the opposition coalition have said that the people of Maldives want justice and the biggest obstacle to that is an irresponsible JSC and because the Supreme Court influences the lower courts.
Speaking to the people of Dharavandhoo, Ibu said that the biggest obstacle to the unity of the Maldivian society is lack of justice and lack of trust towards the judiciary.
Ibu said that the lost trust have to be regained and for that to happen the constitution needs to be amended too. “The JSC cannot work responsibly because of the way it is formed. So it needs to be changed. The constitution has given freedom to the courts. But the Supreme Court is ordering all other courts. We should prevent it” said Ibu.
Meanwhile the founder of JP has also recently criticized JSC and said that the coalition government will reform JSC.
