The President Conveys congratulations to the Prime Minister-elect of Pakistan Imran Khan

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has expressed warm congratulations to the Prime Minister-elect of Pakistan Imran Khan, over the phone, following the Pakistani general elections. President Yameen also conveyed best wishes to the Government and the people of Pakistan.

President Yameen noted his hope and confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan, Pakistan will achieve new heights of progress and prosperity.

Reflecting on the long history of close and cordial relations between the Maldives and Pakistan, President Yameen intimated his firm resolve to work closely with Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan to expand the existing ties of friendship and cooperation.

Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan thanked President Yameen for his kind greetings and good wishes on the election triumph.
