Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu have said that a new housing project will be launched on 7th August.
Under the new project, named Hiyaa Accomplished, all adult Maldivian citizens who do not posses a 1000 square feet land plot will be eligible to apply.
The minister said that for the project, Gulhi Falhu will be reclaimed. “When it is reclaimed, the total area will be 230 hectors and 82000 flats will be developed in that land” said the minister. In addition he said that Fushi Dhiggaru Falhu will be reclaimed to provide land plots.
Once the project is completed, all these islands will be connected via bridges.
